Instead of me just sharing things with you that I hope will be helpful, I’m asking for your help here.

One cool thing about this whole thing, is that as I was preparing for this episode, I ended up doing some online research, and I think I now know what the problem is with that charging system… time will tell if my idea is accurate, or not.

I am a owner/builder/pilot of RV-10. I have been listening to your podcasts and they are great help. I was curious in this episode (048) if you figured out the problem as I am have almost the exact same problem in my airplane.
We tightened a terminal on the alternator, and also replaced the old style voltage regulator and overvoltage relay with a new style voltage regulator that has the overvoltage protection included in the same unit. No more problems.
